Peer Review Process

In the review process, SAMAWA involves authors, editors, section editors, and reviewers. Where in the review process, SAMAWA applies the Double-Blind Review model to maintain confidentiality. Each submitted manuscript is first checked by the editor. If the article meets the focus and scope as well as the SAMAWA writing guidelines, then the document is forwarded to the reviewer to review the content and novelty of the manuscript. If not, the manuscript will be returned to the author. A minimum of 2 reviewers will review each document for approximately 1-2 weeks with the manuscript assessment criteria as stated in the Article Assessment Form for Reviewers. Articles that have been submitted take an average of about 8 weeks to be published.

Reviewers provide comments and recommendations such as:
Accepted without revision,
Accepted with minor/major revisions, or
Rejected.

The final decision on the manuscript’s acceptance lies with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ recommendations and editorial board considerations.
